Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility:
Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School is seeking an experienced, innovative, and energetic third-grade teacher to cover an extended leave from March 2026 - June 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach, guide, and inspire students in general studies subject areas (reading, writing, math, and social studies).
Differentiate instruction for a wide range of student’s abilities and interests.
Communicate regularly with parents via online updates, phone calls, emails, and in-person.
Collaborate with Learning/Social Work Services and outside specialists to coordinate individual educational plans.
Exhibit comfort as part of a professional team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education; M.A. preferred.
Two years of lead teacher experience is preferred.
Experience with Responsive Classroom Approach preferred.
Experience providing a nurturing, creative, and inclusive environment for students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Common Core Math Standards.
Appreciation of a diverse, pluralistic Jewish community.
Ability to embrace technology and new ways of extending students' learning and creative capacities.
Knowledge of interactive whiteboard technology and iPads preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to support and extend the objectives of the curriculum.
Well-developed communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of and experience with the cognitive, social, and emotional issues of 3rd-grade students.
Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
