The Art Teacher designs and delivers a vibrant visual arts program that nurtures creativity, skill
development, and an appreciation for diverse art forms. This role includes planning instruction
aligned with school goals and standards, assessing student learning, maintaining an engaging studio environment, and partnering with families and colleagues to support each learner.
Art teacher’s duties and responsibilities include:
Plan and teach daily art lessons; assess and document student progress.
Create authentic assessments that support varied learning styles.
Maintain an organized, inspiring classroom and rotating student art displays.
Communicate proactively with families about student growth.
Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary and community-based projects.
Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and school-wide initiatives.
Support non-academic duties such as lunch, study hall, and arrival/dismissal.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by School administration.

Possess a positive attitude,
Excellent written and verbal skills,
Strong organizational skills, and
Proven success within a work setting requires collaboration, cooperation, and collegiality.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit, stand, type, twist, bend
Able to use computers, laptops
Able to lift 25-50 lbs.
Other physical demands such as speaking, hearing, manual, and finger dexterity

Qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree
Eligible for a Nebraska teaching certificate in elementary education, with an endorsement in art preferred
A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the lower school/elementary level is preferred
