Maret School is looking for an inspiring and engaging long-term substitute math teacher who encourages students to find joy in all things mathematics. This position will include teaching three sections of Math 6 and one section of Advanced Math 7, each meeting three times per week for 60-minute classes. Additionally, this position will serve as an advisor to a group of sixth grade students.This position will begin at the end of March and will extend for approximately 12 weeks.
Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment and passion for equity, inclusion and belonging in all facets of their work.
A successful candidate will:
Have demonstrated expertise in teaching mathematics at the middle school level;
Display excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with middle school students;
Exhibit a deep passion for teaching and interest in working with students with a wide range of skills and strengths;
Have a minimum of two years teaching/subbing experience;
Have an advanced degree in mathematics or related field (preferred).
Compensation will be $1725 to $2,850 per week, dependent on years of teaching experience and qualifications.
