Position Summary
St. David’s School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Spanish Teacher to teach students in pre-kindergarten through grade 4 for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year, ending May 2026. The ideal candidate will foster a love of language learning and cultural appreciation through engaging, age-appropriate instruction. This role requires creativity, strong classroom management, and a commitment to supporting the school’s mission of academic excellence and character development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic Spanish lessons for PK-4 students that develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Incorporate interactive activities, games, songs, and cultural experiences to make language learning fun and meaningful.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate Spanish language and culture into the broader curriculum.
- Maintain a positive, respectful classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.
- Participate in school events, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- A clear expression of faith in Christ and a deep-rooted Christian character
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification for elementary grades.
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
- Experience teaching elementary students, preferably in a language immersion or world language program.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
