CHEMISTRY TEACHER (starting 26-27 school year)

Position available: Blair Academy announces an opening for a chemistry teacher. We are searching for an enthusiastic, student-centered and collegial educator who will share in the responsibility of ensuring that our teaching of chemistry at Blair is inquiry-based, appropriately challenging and cohesive with the other science classes in our sequence.
The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications:
A love for the subject of chemistry and drive to inspire that passion in students;
Interest in lab-based, inquiry driven, hands-on and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching chemistry;
An interest in teaching students of all levels, from the introductory level through advanced;
A BA/BS in chemistry and/or an advanced degree in a related field
A strong commitment to collaborating with colleagues to create curricular materials; and
A versatile background in science with the ability to teach other subjects if needed.

Typical job responsibilities include:
Teaching four sections each semester;
Coaching or assisting with a sport for two seasons or with activities for three seasons;
Advising a group of six; and
Providing weekly supervision for boarding students during some evening and weekend hours.
Salary & other compensation:Base pay range is $45,000 to $75,000. Salary is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience. Other compensation based on assigned job duties may include a stipend for dormitory work and other responsibilities not stated herein.
Benefits: Our robust benefits program includes, but is not limited to, on-campus housing (for most faculty positions) and three meals a day in our dining hall during the school year. A retirement plan, medical, dental, vision and disability insurance are available. Employees have use of our full fitness center, golf course and other campus facilities.
