Mount Saint Mary Academy seeks a high school French teacher to join our World Language Department for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm and a strong foundation in language instruction to help grow our French program. Part-time and full-time applicants are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate is an experienced teacher who possesses a collaborative mindset and passion for teaching world languages. The candidate strives to incorporate 21st century learning principles and modern language pedagogies in their craft. Candidates should also demonstrate an openness to participating in the broader school community.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or a related linguistic field.
Demonstrated proficiency in French. Candidates with proficiency in an additional language, such as Italian, Latin, or Spanish, will be given preference.
2+ years high school teaching experience (preferred).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
Experience with Comprehensible Input (CI) and other communicative teaching strategies preferred but not required.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Build a classroom culture in which students engage with the language in authentic ways and integrate interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes of communication.
Integrate technology in the classroom in engaging and meaningful ways.
Differentiate instruction and assessment for students, as appropriate.
Stay apprised of current language teaching pedagogies and research.
Willingness to collaborate in the design and evaluation of curriculum.
Develop and support a positive learning environment with students and will effectively communicate with students and families about student progress.
Contribute to the school community through participation in extracurricular activities and school-wide initiatives when possible.
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $70,000 (full-time).
Final compensation will be based on experience and education.
Since both part-time and full-time applicants are encouraged to apply, the full-time salary range above will be adjusted for a part-time employee.

Part-time employees would be eligible for 401(k) plan with employer matching and prorated PTO.
