The Associate Director of College Counseling applies their professional background in independent school-based college counseling and/or selective college admissions and provides academic planning and support for an assigned group of juniors, seniors, and their families. The individual in this position will join a collaborative, experienced team consisting of a Director, three Associate Directors, and a full-time administrative assistant to deliver a comprehensive college counseling program for a graduating class averaging 195-210 students per year. For Fall 2026, this Associate will serve as an at-large adviser for programs related to the Class of 2027, ahead of the assignment of Juniors (Class of 2028) in November.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, 10-month*
Hours of Work: Standard work week with exact hours to be determined by the supervisor. Hours may vary depending on the event schedule. Evening and weekend work will be required.
* This role includes an additional two (2)-week work requirement during the summer break.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the college application process for 40-45 senior and junior students, including writing unique, advocacy-centered recommendation letters; leading parent-student conferences; and guiding all aspects of the college counseling process
Plans events, co-hosting 80-100 visiting college representatives, and attending conferences and college tours
Serves as a Grade Level Representative to facilitate the advisement of the senior class
Staffs 10-15 evening and weekend programs per year (a college fair, mock interview night, Paying for College Night, case studies, on-campus university information sessions, interview days, and various school functions)
Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified is required.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions and frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. The work environment is often noisy.

Travel is primarily local during regular business days. Overnight and out-of-area travel may also be required, primarily for planned events, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Driving a Westminster vehicle may be required for this position.
