Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Upper School Theology Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is an exempt, full-time, 10-month position. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, a passion for theological inquiry, and be able to develop students’ capacities for critical and creative thinking in innovative ways. Successful applicants embrace being part of a learning community dedicated to honoring the dignity and sacredness of each person with a curriculum which educates for “justice, peace, and care for all creation”.
Candidates must share a commitment to Maryvale’s values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to all the values expressed in theSeven Hallmarks of a Notre Dame de Namur Learning Community. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the intellectual, spiritual, and social-emotional growth of their students. Candidates should be comfortable working with a diverse, single-sex student population, and be encouraged by the prospect of working collaboratively and collegially within a department. This position reports directly to the Upper School Head.
Responsibilities include:
Teach full time (5 classes) Upper School classes including but not limited to: The Bible (9th), Church/Christology (10th), Catholic Social Teaching (11th), and Morality/Ethics (11th).
Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program.
Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned, including service days, retreat days, and co-curricular activities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Religious Studies or similar field of study. Master’s degree is preferred.
Applicants should be practicing Catholics.

Salary is commensurate with experience and degree earned and ranges from $48,000.00 to $65,000.00 annually.
