The salary range for this position is $50,000-$100,000. Final compensation will be determined based on teaching experience.

Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA), an innovative, Jr-K–12, independent day school in northern New Jersey with a strong national reputation, Apple Distinguished School recognition, a celebrated 1:1 learning program, and a strong tradition of internal professional development, seeks a full-time math teacher in the Middle School for the 2026-27 school year.
Middle School math teachers teach a variety of courses in the sixth through eighth grades. Responsibilities include teaching four sections of math and serving as an advisor to a group of approximately sixteen students.
Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
BA in Math Education or related field.
Demonstrate experience teaching middle school students.
Implement a diverse range of instructional strategies for a student-centered approach in the 55-minute block period.
Ability to teach a range of courses within a middle-school mathematics curriculum, covering Math 6 through Geometry.
Invest in our commitment to multicultural education by teaching texts and introducing units that examine race, gender, class, sexual orientation, and religion.
Demonstrate careful consideration of the ethical challenges and opportunities posed by AI, and a commitment to ongoing examination of the impact of this emerging technology.
Show commitment to helping students one-on-one outside the classroom.
Demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and levels of ability.
Have a strong interest in working with students as an advisor and as an extracurricular activity sponsor or coach.
Candidates should possess outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; the willingness and flexibility to work as a member of a collaborative team; love of learning; and the ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction. Candidates should be willing to work as a collaborative member of the department and to teach a range of classes according to the needs of the department.
