Princeton Day School is seeking a certified Part-time Athletic Trainer beginning in August 2025. Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics, the Athletic Trainer will work with Middle School and Upper School athletes. The Athletic Trainer will either be in school or assigned to practices/games.
This is a part-time 10-month exempt position working 30 hours weekly. Hours may vary slightly each week and will be primarily during weekday afternoons/early evenings with occasional weekends.
Required Qualifications:
NATA's Board of Certification
NJ Athletic Trainer Licensure
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
For this position, the ideal candidate is expected to:
Provide athletic training services which include evaluating, treating, rehabilitating/conditioning student-athletes in accordance with NJ State regulations.
Act as a liaison between athlete, coach, athletic-director, parents and physicians.
Athletic injury care.
Treatment and prevention of injuries through the application of modalities and protective administration of tape, wraps, and bracing.
Work with coaches to develop conditioning programs.
Maintain open channels of communication to parents, coaches, and physicians regarding athletic injuries, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Game and practice coverage:
Cover athletic contests and practices as determined by the athletic director and/or assistants.
Provide ice, water, supplies to teams at least 30 minutes prior to games/practices.
Provide immediate care of athletic injuries and referrals to medical facilities when necessary.
Alert all serious athletic injuries to the athletic director and school physician.
Review emergency procedures.
Alert opposing team’s athletic trainer to serious injuries.
Rehabilitation:
Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries under the supervision of a referring physician.
Maintain medical record log for athletic injuries, treatment, rehabilitation, and physician referrals.
Coordination of medical equipment:
medical kit assignment to coaches.
responsible for monthly medical kit maintenance.
Administer baseline and concussion testing (ImPACT) to students as needed.
Assist the head athletic trainer and athletic director as needed.
Compensation Range: $50,000 - $53,000 a year (this role is eligible for benefits)
