The Buckley School in the City of New York, an all-boys K-8 + Academy Year day school, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is seeking a maternity leave replacement for a third grade Associate Teacher from late August through December 2026. This position entails splitting time between two classrooms to help maintain a positive learning environment for all students, and to ensure that the individual needs of all students are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively collaborate with the Head Teacher to plan and prepare differentiated lessons.
Actively participate in daily classroom management and logistics.
Communicate regularly with the Head Teachers about students’ academic progress and social/emotional growth.
Plan and teach small group lessons across a variety of content areas.
Participate in weekly grade level meetings pertaining to curriculum, data, student social emotional development, etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Education
Previous experience working with Lower School aged children and/or a desire to learn how to teach in primary grades
An ability to work collaboratively
Strong communication skills in both oral and written forms
Strong executive functioning skills
Proficiency in Google Drive/Google docs
