HWIS is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to join the school on a part-time basis (20-25 hrs./wk.).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Handles all employment verification letters, job postings, resume reviews, form collection, etc.
- Collects and files Employee new hire forms; creating employee files
- Sending and collecting benefits onboarding paperwork
- Oversees licensing documents
- Serves as point of contact for benefits administration
- Tracks PTO for NY campus
- Serves as a resource for staff with general questions/issues
- Processes visa paperwork
- Ensures records maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws and school policies.
- Performs related duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years' HR administrative experience required. Exposure to recruitment procedures and benefit plans is highly desired.
- Knowledge of employment law, and federal, state & local regulations necessary.
- Experience with visa applications (h1b, OPT/CPT)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
- Must be highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
- Strong computer skills
- Capable to hold confidential information and handle sensitive data with professionalism and common sense.
- Experience in an educational setting is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with all federal, state and local regulations including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, move, climb stairs, etc., to move through school property; ability to travel between NJ & NY locations
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
