Part-Time Library Support and Receptionist—Two Immediate Hires (morning and afternoon)

Work Schedule: Academic Calendar Year (End of August to June)
Supervisor: Director of Library Program and Information Resources
Position Summary: The Part-Time Library Support and Receptionist role provides front-line assistance in the Kumar Wang Library (KWL) by ensuring a welcoming environment and smooth daily operations. The support role in the morning opens the library, and the support role in the afternoon closes it. The KWL offers a vibrant community hub and center for learning and social engagement for Upper and Middle School students. This position combines customer service, clerical tasks, and technology support to help students and faculty access resources efficiently while maintaining an organized and inviting space.
**Hours-Morning Library Role: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 1:00 pm
**Hours-Afternoon Library Role: Monday to Friday, 12:45 pm to 5:30 pm
Essential Responsibilities: Duties can change, and other duties can be assigned
Serve as the first point of contact for students, colleagues and visitors in the library
Provide friendly, professional assistance with inquiries, resource location, and basic research needs
Order library materials and supplies
Monitor library space to maintain a quiet, respectful environment conducive to learning
Assist with circulation tasks, including checking materials in/out and shelving books
Help maintain accurate inventory and organize library materials
Support library events and programs
Assist users with accessing digital resources, databases, and library technology
Troubleshoot basic technical issues and escalate as needed
Update library displays
Help maintain school records and implement records continuum
Support special projects as assigned
Education and Qualifications
A bachelor’s Degree is required
Prior experience working in a customer service role is required
Prior experience working in an educational setting or library is preferred
Strong technological skills; proficient in Google Suite, comfortable working with databases, and able to learn library systems
Patient demeanor, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to changing priorities
Reliability and attention to detail in all tasks
Interest in supporting a culture of learning

Salary/Wage: Hourly Range $18.00-$20.00, per hour. Salary offers are based on factors that include years of experience, training/skills, internal peer equity, market, and other organizational considerations. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
