Job Summary
TMI invites applications for a full-time position as an Assistant Chaplain. The role begins in August, 2026.
Essential Job Duties
Teach four sections of religion. Two sections of Biblical Stories, one section of Introduction to Spirituality, and an Upper School level Religious course.
Service Project Coordinator for both Middle and Upper School
Assist the Chaplain as needed for Chapel related needs (Sermons, Eucharist, etc.)
Help to coordinate the logistics of technology, readers, and acolytes within the Chapel
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Actively participate in and contribute to extracurricular activities, including athletics, residential life, or club programs

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong calling to work with teenage students and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Ordination in The Episcopal Church is preferred, though experienced lay leaders will also be considered.
Founded in 1893, TMI Episcopal (TMI) is the flagship private school of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. Located in San Antonio, TMI educates students in grades 6-12 and is the oldest Episcopal Church-sponsored, college-preparatory school in the Southwest. TMI offers an optional JROTC program, and 5-day or 7-day boarding for students in grades 8-12.

The Walker Innovation Center is under the direction of our Dean of Innovation and is available to all faculty... to use for stand-alone projects or to facilitate the ongoing integration of Design Thinking and project based learning in an effort to instill in our students the benefits of real-world problem solving.
