Seattle Academy is seeking a part-time substitute to support our Upper School and Middle School theater department through February of 2026. You will play a critical role in maintaining a continuum of our 8th grade and Upper School improv classes while stepping into directing the 7th grade plan already in progress, and be a part of a team of teachers who are teaching a middle school musical.
This position demands flexibility, enthusiasm, and a profound commitment to our students’ educational advancement.

- Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, established by the permanent teacher.
- Knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm for working with middle & upper school-aged students.
- A willingness to incorporate social-emotional learning competencies (social awareness, relationship skills, self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making) and project-based learning into the subject matter.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with all constituent groups - teachers, parents, students, and administrative teams;
- Experience with addressing student behavior.
- Creative and imaginative problem-solver.
