Village Community School seeks to hire a Woodshop Assistant Teacher.
This is full-time 10-month position, starting August 31, 2026.
Annual Salary Range $50,000-$55,000

RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain an inclusive learning environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Affirm the identities of all members of our community.
Assist and support the head woodshop teacher in managing, preparing materials, and organizing the woodshop for teaching K-5th grade classes.
Assist with the Upper School elective class.
Lifting and transporting materials in the woodshop.
Assist in the daily planning of the woodshop lessons for K-5th grades respectively. Applicant should have experience with both woodworking and children.
Meet regularly with the Division Director and head teacher to receive feedback and mentorship.
Work with the head woodshop teacher to prepare for both formal and informal parent communication (conferences and written Mid and End-of-year Reports).
Transition students to and from classes.
Monitor students during additional duties such as snack, lunch or recess.
This job requires regular bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods of time.

Attend grade level, staff, new teacher, and professional development meetings.
Supervised by Lower School Director and Assistant Lower School Director.
Report directly to the Lower School Director.
