Emet Classical Academy | New York City

Emet Classical Academy seeks an entrepreneurial, relational, and mission-driven Director of Admissions and will serve as the primary engine of the school’s growth. This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic admissions professional to join a rapidly growing startup school with a compelling educational vision, a deeply engaged community, and significant philanthropic support from the Tikvah Fund.

Over the next three years, Emet seeks to grow enrollment from approximately 80 students to more than 200 students while continuing to establish itself as one of New York City’s most distinctive Jewish classical schools. Enrollment growth and community outreach remain among the school’s highest strategic priorities.

The Director of Admissions will serve as a visible ambassador for the school throughout the greater New York Jewish community and will work closely with school leadership to attract mission-aligned families, strengthen enrollment systems, and build lasting institutional relationships. The ideal candidate will combine warmth, professionalism, strategic thinking, and operational excellence with a genuine passion for education and relationship-building. Most importantly, the appointee will demonstrate an ambitious track record for aggressively recruiting mission aligned families.

This is a full-time, 12-month leadership position that includes evening and weekend events.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the school leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic enrollment growth strategy.
• Serve as a primary public-facing representative of Emet throughout the greater NYC Jewish community.
• Build strong relationships with prospective families, educational consultants, rabbis, feeder schools, synagogues, camps, Jewish community organizations, and other partners.
• Develop outreach initiatives designed to expand awareness of Emet among mission-aligned families across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, and surrounding communities.
• Help position Emet as a leading option within the Jewish educational landscape of New York City.
• Lead the admissions and recruitment process from inquiry through enrollment.
• Plan and execute admissions events including open houses, information sessions, parlor meetings, salons, and community outreach events.
• Coordinate campus tours, student visits, shadow days, and admissions assessments.
• Develop admissions communications, enrollment materials, and recruitment campaigns.
• Oversee the daily administration of admissions and enrollment systems, ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism throughout the process.
• Maintain applicant records and manage databases in the FACTS system in order to leverage admissions funnel data to more effectively drive enrollment success.
• Process enrollment contracts, re-enrollment materials, and financial aid documentation.
• Generate admissions and enrollment projections for school leadership and Board-level planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, independent schools, Jewish communal organizations, or related fields preferred.
• Strong familiarity with the New York City Jewish community and educational landscape strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build authentic relationships with families and community partners.
• Strong organizational and operational abilities with careful attention to detail.
• Experience with admissions databases and student information systems.
• Demonstrated initiative, creativity, professionalism, and follow-through.
• A genuine enthusiasm for education, community-building, and Emet’s mission.
