The Director of Data Solutions plays a pivotal role in advancing NAIS' mission to empower the Independent School Community through data, research, and learning. This position spearheads the strategy for integrating data into school leadership services, overseeing the design, development, and management of NAIS data reporting systems and tools. By providing robust support, the Director ensures that school leaders can effectively utilize data to guide their decision-making processes.
Collaborating with colleagues across the organization, the Director of Data Solutions also contributes to the creation of educational programs and learning experiences, delivering impactful solutions that benefit our members.
Responsibilities:
Develop strategies for infusing data into NAIS services to schools, ensuring they align with member priorities and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
Lead the design, building, and management of data reporting interfaces in custom web applications based on user-informed requirements;
Identify data reports needed to produce meaningful insights for schools, client associations, and colleagues;
Lead the independent school stakeholder survey services in collaboration with the SIRT and Leadership and Governance teams at NAIS;
Lead the development of data-enriched learning experiences for independent school leaders both in collaboration with other NAIS teams and as offerings of the DASL team at NAIS;
Develop and manage tiered support structure of survey system customers;
Engage in data governance activities across the data ecosystem;
Participate in data quality management efforts across the data ecosystem;

Physical Requirements: Ability to operate in an office environment. Ability to travel as needed.
Travel: Travel to the headquarters in Washington DC required as needed – a minimum of four times per year.
Qualifications:
BA/BSc required, MA preferred
Experience with Independent schools and/or independent school associations preferred;
Proven track record of building meaningful, data-rich learning experiences for school leaders;
Experience with developing effective data visualizations and reports for school leaders;
Proficient in data reporting and visualization tools, PowerBI preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Proficient in Excel
Experience assessing user needs and designing solutions
