Assistant Director of Summer Camp
Grier School seeks an Assistant Director of Summer Camp to assist with day-today camp operations, working closely with the Director of Summer Camp. The primary focus of this position is to be highly involved in all stages of developing and planning. The ideal candidate for this position will assist with managing the structure and content of the camp while maintaining an energetic and positive attitude. The Assistant Director of Summer Camp must be an active member of the camp community by participating in activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting with day-to-day camp operations and logistics.
Helping with pre-summer camp organization and planning.
Supervising and supporting campers and staff.
Effectively communicating with parents, staff, and campers on a daily basis.
Leading and facilitating daily meetings and activities with campers and staff.
Enforcing camp policies, rules, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Previous summer camp experience preferred.
Experience in customer service or a related field.
Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with campers, staff, and parents.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and attention to detail.
Understands the importance of confidentiality.
Applicants must be passionate about education and have a willingness to engage in a boarding school environment. They should also be able to obtain the following clearances: Act 34, Act 151, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, and Act 126.
