Position Summary
Carolina Preparatory Academy (Carolina Prep) seeks an Adjunct Mandarin Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Under the general direction of the Dean of Academics, the ideal candidate will lead one section of Mandarin as a foreign language for middle and upper school grades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field

• Minimum three years teaching experience

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Adhere to IB guidelines and professional standards

• In partnership with the Dean of Academics, create and submit a curriculum log to support archival documentation, transparency and accountability for accreditation purposes

• Create and post your syllabus both online and in your classroom

• Ensure safety and well-being of students in the classroom and on campus

• Establish and deliver Spanish education scope and sequence curriculum

• Create and foster a learning environment that produces agile thinkers, poised communicators and gracious collaborators

• Maintain a supportive and collaborative partnership with faculty and administration to assist with curriculum development and implementation within the context of the School's overall program and Mission

• Attend all required faculty and team meetings

• Collaborate and participate within divisional team as needed

• Maintain and participate in a home/school partnership by being open to consistent communication

• Implement and participate in meetings involving Student Support Plans as needed

• Maintain student record keeping, lesson planning, parent reports, and parent conferences

• Be available to parents through written communication and attending conferences

• Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Academics or Head of School.
