Part-Time English Teacher Position
Keio Academy of New York (https://www.keio.edu/)is an international boarding school located in Purchase, New York. It is the only overseas operation affiliated with Keio University (https://www.keio.ac.jp/en/) in Japan. Keio Academy of New York seeks to appoint one part-time faculty member to teach 10th-grade intermediate English and 11th-grade intermediate English beginning September 2025.

REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, English literature, or a similar discipline is required. A Master’s degree, a minimum of two years of experience teaching ESOL or EFL, and state teaching certification are preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members. Knowledge of the Japanese language is not required.
COMPENSATION:
Part-time teachers will be compensated according to the number of classes they teach.
The rate will be $57 - $70 per class. (DOE) General teaching preparation, homework assignment.
If you are requested to attend faculty/department meetings, the actual hours will be compensated at your class rate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The part-time English teacher will teach 11 credit hours, comprising one section of English 10 (Intermediate) and one section of English 11 (Intermediate). The curriculum for these classes focuses on refining students’ English language skills in the four areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening through the study of literature. Students practice their oral language skills through presentations and group projects, and develop their reading and writing skills through in-depth study of novels, research, and in-class writing exercises, including academic essays and creative writing assignments.
