Position Overview
Rice Memorial High School, a co-educational Catholic college preparatory school serving grades 9 through post-graduate, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to serve as a Residence Hall Proctor (Dorm Parent). This role is central to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment for students in our boarding program.

Responsibilities
The Residence Hall Proctor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Residential Life Presence:
Live in the residence hall during the academic year.
Be available for various shifts (day, evening/overnight, weekends, holidays) as scheduled.
Student Supervision & Support:
Build a positive and inclusive dormitory culture.
Perform safety and wellness checks, including rounds, lights out, and room checks.
Provide first aid or facilitate medical care in coordination with the school nurse or local medical facilities.
Program Administration:
Uphold and enforce boarding program rules and routines.
Manage administrative tasks while on duty (phones, forms, attendance, filing, etc.).
Supervise and support student events, activities, and outings.
Help drive shuttle buses for student pick up and drop off
Community Building:
Engage students in a hospitable and culturally respectful environment.
Foster open communication and support students' social and emotional development.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other Residence Life Proctors and school staff.
Exercise sound judgment and decision-making, especially under pressure.
Qualifications
Maturity, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Capacity to remain calm and effective in emergencies
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Valid driver’s license preferred
Experience with or interest in residential life, education, or student mentorship
Background check, fingerprinting, and screening required
