Location: Saddle River Day School – Saddle River, NJ
Type: Summer Teacher

Dates: June 22nd to July 29th (no classes July 2nd or 3rd)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 12:00pm 

Saddle River Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish or French teacher to lead a class in our 2026 Summer Academy. This position involves teaching a mix of Middle and Upper School students.

Key responsibilities: 

• Teach an accelerated summer class in either our Spanish I to IV classes or French I to IV classes (all courses taught at both the CP and Honors levels) 
• Administer a final examination to students to ensure their successful completion of the material 

The ideal candidate will:

• Speak and write Spanish or French fluently 
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, French, Education, or a related field
• Have experience teaching world language courses (or other relevant experience)
• Effectively keep pace with an accelerated schedule 
• Demonstrate a passion for teaching, fostering student growth, and engaging students in exploring world cultures 
• Manage the classroom effectively, establish a positive learning environment, and maintain accurate records of student progress
• Effectively differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning styles
• Communicate effectively with families to support student success
• Be organized, empathetic, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Compensation: 

• Salary: $5,000 to $7,500 for full credit advancement courses (final compensation will be determined based on course enrollment)
