Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exempt, full-time, 10-month position. The ideal candidate will have Middle School teaching experience and a strong academic record focusing on an inquiry-based approach. This position will report directly to the Middle School Head.
Responsibilities include:
Teach Middle School Social Studies.
Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program.
Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in History, Education, or a related field.
Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Maryvale and our connection to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
Commitment to single gender education for young women
Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level
Additional Requirements:
Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment
Subject to a Child Protection Services screening prior to employment
Subject to a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and
Sexual Misconduct

Salary is commensurate with experience and degree earned and ranges from $48,000.00 to $65,000.00 annually. This position is eligible for full-time benefits including personal and sick leave benefits.
