Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exempt, full-time, 10-month position.  The ideal candidate will have Middle School teaching experience and a strong academic record focusing on an inquiry-based approach. This position will report directly to the Middle School Head.  

Responsibilities include:

• Teach Middle School Social Studies.
• Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program.
• Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in History, Education, or a related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
• Middle School experience preferred
• Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
• Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents 
• Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Maryvale and our connection to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur 
• Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
• Commitment to single gender education for young women 
• Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level 

Additional Requirements:

• Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment
• Subject to a Child Protection Services screening prior to employment
• Subject to a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and

Sexual Misconduct

Salary is commensurate with experience and degree earned and ranges from $48,000.00 to $65,000.00 annually. This position is eligible for full-time benefits including personal and sick leave benefits.
