Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Math teacher to join our faculty starting in August 2026. The ideal candidate is passionate about nurturing character and curiosity, while empowering students to grow into confident, thoughtful problem-solvers and practicing mathematicians. This position requires the knowledge, flexibility, and willingness to teach across the Math curriculum in grades 9-12, as needed, along with a strong pedagogical foundation and alignment with the School’s mission. The successful candidate will be eager to engage fully in the life of the School community, including participation in extracurricular programs.
Essential Functions
Design and deliver courses that invite students to explore mathematical patterns, models, and real-world applications while maintaining a commitment to intellectual curiosity, academic integrity, and multiple problem-solving approaches
Help students understand mathematics as a dynamic and connected discipline through reasoning, problem-solving, and clear written and verbal communication
Collaborate with departmental colleagues in grades 9-12 to develop lesson and unit plans that reflect departmental goals and intentionally scaffold student skill development
Support the diverse learning needs of all students, demonstrating an understanding of learning differences and differentiated instructional strategies
Create a caring and inclusive classroom community by building thoughtful, supportive relationships with students and their families
Provide engaging, diverse, and student-centered learning experiences using research-backed instructional practices that promote critical thinking
Demonstrate effective classroom management skills to create an environment in which all students can learn and feel intellectually and emotionally safe
Engage actively in professional development, both individual and school-wide, and bring a growth mindset to the continual improvement of teaching practice
Attend and actively contribute to all divisional, departmental, and full faculty meetings, including professional development days
Participate fully in the life of the school by attending events, chaperoning trips, supervising students, advising, coaching, and sponsoring clubs as needed
Assist with assigned duties (e.g., morning meetings, lunch supervision, class trips, and carpool)
Perform other duties appropriate to the position as assigned by the Head of School
Comply with all school policies, procedures, and regulations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, or relevant field
3-5 years of experience teaching at the middle and/or upper school grade levels
Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues
Competent with educational technology
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Education, or relevant field
