The Taft School
Head Coach - Varsity Girls’ Volleyball
The Taft School seeks a head coach for the varsity girls’ volleyball team for a fall 2025 start date. This role can be combined with any of the full-time teaching vacancies for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to work with students from around the world, gain valuable experience at a leading independent school, as well as to live and work in a supportive professional environment.
Volleyball-related duties include:
Coaching games and practices;
Designing practice plans;
Coordinating responsibilities with assistant coach(es);
Supporting college placement for student-athletes;
Collaborating with the Taft admissions office and college counseling office; and
Communicating with various stakeholders, including families.
Specific qualifications include:
Previous high-level coaching experience;
Strong interpersonal, communication, and professional skills; and,
A desire to work with engaged and motivated student-athletes.
A bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience;
The ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, employees, and other campus stakeholders to support and expand programmatic and institutional goals; and an interest in joining a residential community that serves a globally-inclusive student body.
Authorized to work in the United States of America.
In addition to the duties related to leading the girls’ volleyball program, the successful candidate will serve as a member of the school’s faculty in a full-time role, perform evening duties, and participate in a second season of the school’s afternoon program.
Full-time, benefits-eligible positions include either campus housing or housing stipend and use of school facilities, including the grounds, athletics center, and dining hall (position-specific and subject to availability).
