Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Director of Athletics and will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and preventing athletic injuries, as well as for ensuring the safety and well-being of our student-athletes. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer will have teaching responsibilities (ex: Health/Science based class). Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing an effective athletic training program for upper school and middle school students, including:
Provide preventative and rehabilitative care to student-athletes
Evaluate and treat athletic injuries
Teach classes in health-related areas of experience
Develop and implement injury prevention and athletic performance plans, as well as educational initiatives for student-athletes, coaches, and teams that maximize safety and align with athletic goals and academic priorities
Manage and maintain athletic training equipment and supplies
Serve as a liaison between coaches, parents, and medical professionals regarding the status and care of injured student-athletes
Keep accurate medical records and document injuries
Follow all local, state, and national regulations and guidelines for athletic training and safety
Provide athletic training coverage at home practices and games
On a limited basis, travel with teams for away games when needed
Ensure that students have submitted appropriate preseason sports medicine forms
Serve as a consultant to coaching staff regarding all aspects of safety.
Develop emergency action plans for off-site spaces of use, and adjust existing EAPs for on-campus spaces as needed.
Serve as athletic administrator on duty and monitor safety in athletic spaces, including the fitness center.
Assist in the development and enforcement of athletic department policies and procedures related to health, wellness, and safety.
Assist in promoting a culture of physical health and wellness and programming across the Barrack community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited athletic training program
Valid verification from the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
Valid state license to practice as a certified athletic trainer within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Valid CPR certification
Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and medical professionals
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Teaching experience is a plus
