Key Responsibilities of the Athletics Coordinator:
Leads and manages all aspects of the school’s interscholastic athletics program in alignment with Wyndcroft’s mission, values, and culture.
Recruits, hires, supervises, evaluates, and supports athletic coaches; facilitates ongoing professional development including safety, CPR, concussion protocol, and risk management training.
Collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer to manage athletic program budgeting and ensure timely payments to coaches and vendors.
Oversees scheduling, transportation, and staffing of referees and officials for athletic events.
Coordinates and verifies athletic eligibility and compliance with league and state regulations.
Develops, updates, and enforces the Wyndcroft Athletics Handbook and relevant athletic policies.
Ensures safety and proper maintenance of all athletic facilities, fields, courts, and equipment.
Manages uniform and equipment distribution, collection, storage, and repair.
Serves as liaison to The Hill School for facility use, and to league organizations for scheduling, compliance, and communication.
Collects and tracks athletic forms and fees; communicates effectively with families and students.
Represents Wyndcroft at league meetings, athletic events, and recognition assemblies.
Organizes and leads seasonal Athletic Recognition events.
Coaches school teams as needed. These positions are typically accompanied by an additional stipend.
Prepares and presents reports on the athletics program to the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities of Teachers:
Fully supports the School’s mission and is a highly engaging, positive and assertive ambassador for the School.
Works collaboratively and supportively with the AHOS, Chief Academic Officer (CAO), Head of School (HOS), members of the Wyndcroft Leadership Team (WLT) and fellow faculty and staff.
Teaching: Maintains a safe, pupil-centred learning environment. Utilising an interactive and hands-on approach whilst promoting self-discovery and critical thinking, motivates and challenges pupils in a focused and orderly environment. Guides whole-class, small group and individualised instruction in (depending on the subject specialty): reading, writing, word study, mathematics, social studies, science and social-emotional learning. Regularly monitors and assesses pupil learning and growth to inform instruction using a variety of tools and means, e.g. formative and summative assessments and standardised tests.
Curriculum design: Plans a comprehensive, integrated, theme-based curriculum that aligns with the School’s mission and grade-level learning goals. Crafts thoughtful, engaging units of study designed to address gifted learners and the different learning styles of pupils in the class.
Collaboration: works with colleagues to ensure integration across subject areas, as appropriate. Consistently and clearly communicates with colleagues, administrators and parents regarding pupil progress and issues. Leads parent-teacher conferences.
Actively supports the School’s enrolment management by collaborating with the Director of Admission and Communications on admission and re-enrolment as needed, e.g. participating in classroom shadow visits, school tours and open houses.
Performs other duties and oversees special assignments as necessary or assigned by the AHOS, CAO, or HOS.
Additional Responsibilities
Attends and contributes to regular, weekly faculty and staff meetings.
Collaboratively plans, organises, conducts and attends relevant field trips, including overnight camping trips.
Supervises carline, lunch and recess duty as needed.
As requested, supervise a pupil Advisory group.
Attends and assists with assemblies and special events, some of which occur outside of normal school hours.
Actively participates in all in-service, pre-service, orientation and professional development days.

Athletics Specific Competencies
Strong foundation in child/adolescent development and staff supervision
Capacity to lead, inspire, and mentor both students and coaches
Understanding of best practices in physical education, fitness, and character-based coaching
Ability to innovate and implement improvements in athletic programming
Education and Credentials
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
Current certification in First Aid, AED, and age-appropriate CPR
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
Preferred Experience
Minimum of three years’ experience in teaching, coaching, or athletic leadership
Experience working with school or community-based athletic programs
Experience in independent schools or nonprofit organizations
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
