ABOUT THE POSITION
The school is looking for a dynamic K–8 Educational Technologist to support teaching and learning in the elementary and middle schools through the innovative integration of technology. This role works closely with teachers to enhance curriculum, student thinking, and learning through the creative use of technology, including support of the 1:1 iPad program and the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.
The K–8 Educational Technologist provides digital support and mentoring for students in the Capstone program and leads the Digital Citizenship Common Sense Media K–8 school accreditation and other related certifications. This role also serves as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and supporting school devices, as well as network, Wi-Fi, and AV issues.
The Educational Technologist upholds HPA’s commitment to project-, place-, and inquiry-based learning and serves as a proponent for education for sustainability in alignment with HPA’s Vision 2049.
Lower School Responsibilities
Collaborates with teachers to integrate technology into the classroom by researching apps to support learning, modeling technology teaching, and teaching model lessons in support of teacher development and student learning. Actively provides enthusiastic, supportive mentorship in applying technology to improve educational outcomes and innovate in the classroom. Provides educational technology support for Capstone 5.
Middle School Responsibilities
Supports the BYOD program through orientation, setup, and rollout for families, administration, and staff. Collaborates with teachers to integrate technology into the classroom by researching apps, modeling technology teaching, and teaching model lessons. Works with students to understand and use myHPA (Blackbaud), Google Suite, and various technology tools for knowledge artifact creation, digital media, and an introduction to computational thinking through coding. Provides coaching and guidance for Middle School Advisors on Digital Citizenship and supports Capstone 8.
Yearbook Advisor
Serves as the Yearbook Advisor and oversees completion of the Village Campus Yearbook with student support.

Teaching, Learning, and Assessment - Assist teachers in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing vigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences.
Digital Age Learning Environments - Create and support effective digital age learning environments to maximize learning for all students.
Professional Development and Program Evaluation - Conduct needs assessments, develop technology-related professional learning programs, and evaluate the impact on instructional practice and student learning.
Content Knowledge and Professional Growth - Demonstrate professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in content, pedagogical, and technological areas as well as adult learning and leadership, and continuously deepen knowledge and expertise.
Information Technology Troubleshooting & Support - Conduct needs assessments, develop technology-related professional learning programs, and evaluate the impact on instructional practice and student learning.
Digital Media and Film Course - This course provides opportunities for students to develop their technology, communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
Professional Responsibilities include expectations for ongoing self-assessment and reflection, communication with families, and contributing with understanding and consistency to the overall school environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field
Working knowledge of iOS, Mac OS, Windows OS, Chrome OS, and Google Docs
Experience facilitating professional development
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Positive, solutions-oriented mindset
Ability to maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL)
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Education, Education Technology, or a related field
Three or more years of classroom teaching experience with technology integration
Experience coordinating vendors and consultants
Familiarity with mobile device management systems

Faculty Salary Range: $52,500 - $98,454, prorated based on FTE. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
