Community School of Naples (CSN) is currently seeking a talented, collaborative, and motivated Upper School Science teacher to teach Chemistry and Physics, starting on August 10, 2026. This position consists of mostly 10th grade chemistry classes and one class of physics although this may change with the needs of the school. Full-time faculty teach five periods of 14-16 students, serve as a student advisory for 12 students, and have two planning periods.
The Upper School Science Department endeavors to cultivate in its students the ability to think critically and constructively, and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately their ideas, thoughts, and results. As an upper school science teacher at CSN, this individual should demonstrate a passion and expertise in the teaching of science and a willingness to develop a vibrant, challenging curriculum that allows students to engage in learning through research and experimentation. All Upper School science labs are in the state-of-the-art Institute of Science and Environmental Research building, which opened in August 2020.
CSN is one of the top independent schools in southwest Florida and maintains a PK3-12 school enrollment of over 1000 students. CSN has a high retention rate with many dedicated teachers here for longer than 10 years; some more than 30. Compensation and Benefits
This appointment is for the 2026-27 academic year, starting with orientation on August 10, 2026, and is paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications. A bachelor’s degree in Science is required although master’s degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching experience at the high school level.
In order to support our STEM Scholars and AP Capstone initiatives, experience in teaching the skills of scientific research or competing in science fair competitions is a definite plus.
