Northfield Mount Hermon, an independent co-educational boarding school in western Massachusetts, seeks a dynamic individual to teach in a challenging secondary-level mathematics program that ranges from pre-algebra through multivariable calculus and linear algebra. This position begins with the fall semester of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Responsibilities of the position include a combination of classroom teaching, student advising, resident dormitory supervision, and coaching or equivalents. Candidates are encouraged to include in their application experiences that may support our athletic and student life program.
The successful applicant will have at least a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field (master’s preferred) with a background sufficient to teach Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, and/or Computer Science as well, and experience teaching mathematics. Knowledge of and experience with curricular design and development are preferred. Additional qualifications include strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and experience using technology in the classroom, including graphing calculators, computer-based math applications, and Google Apps for Education.
Candidates must be familiar with boarding school life and have an interest in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents. They will demonstrate experience in equity and inclusion work that promotes a diverse community environment and a clear understanding of anti-bias education.
