Summary

Holy Child School at Rosemont is seeking a Director of Philanthropy to begin late July 2025. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dynamic professional with demonstrated leadership, fundraising and stewardship skills and be committed to the fulfillment of the Holy Child mission and philosophy. S/he is responsible for building strong, meaningful connections across our Holy Child community. 

Guided by the school’s mission and vision, the Director of Philanthropy is responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, building and maintaining strong relationships with donors  and overseeing the annual fund and EITC/OSTC. In addition to working closely with the Head of School, the Director will also interface regularly with the Board of Trustees, parents, students, senior administrators, and Alumni. S/he is a member of the Leadership Team and leads an office including a Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations, Coordinator of Parent Programs and Events,  and a Development Assistant. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Embrace and be able to articulate the mission and vision of Catholic education in general, and of Holy Child School at Rosemont specifically, and must possess the ability and willingness to relate well to students and members of the school community and to interact with them regularly.
• Cultivate and steward internal and external stakeholders with a community-and-donor-centered focus to support and expand an emerging culture of philanthropy.
• Build and manage relationships with all constituents and solicit support from all trustees, parents, grandparents, past parents, alumni, and community members.
• Collaborate with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, Director of Finance and Operations, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Development Team to set fundraising goals, develop strategic messaging, and train spokespeople.
• Provide regular progress reports to the Head of School and Development Committee and publish an annual report to the community.
• Prepare and manage a budget for the development office, including forecasting and tracking to fundraising goals with pledges and anticipated timing. 
• Cultivate, steward and solicit major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations. 
• Create a comprehensive annual planned giving strategy and, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications, produce all major development publications and develop coordinated communications calendar to steward existing donors and inspire additional planned gifts.
• Design and implement fundraising programs and events to engage donors and the broader community.
• Ensure all fundraising activities are executed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with federal and local regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of experience in fundraising/development, with prior leadership roles in an independent school development office preferred. 
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communications and relationship building.
• Demonstrated success in securing major gifts from multiple constituencies.
• Experience leading and managing a team.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices including donor stewardship, annual fund campaigns, capital campaigns, endowment, and planned giving.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning with the ability to multitask, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Experience with database management; Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge experience a strong plus.
