The School in Rose Valley is seeking a warm, collaborative, and visionary educational leader to join our close-knit community as Director of Progressive Education. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to guide and strengthen a mission-driven academic program where students learn through hands-on experiences, meaningful exploration, and authentic engagement. Working closely with the Head of School, faculty, and program leaders, the Director of Progressive Education will help ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning experience that supports the growth of the whole child.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a cohesive, mission-aligned academic program across the school
- Foster progressive, inquiry-based, and student-centered teaching practices
- Supervise, coach, and support faculty growth and development
- Partner with school leadership on hiring, evaluation, and academic planning
- Promote inclusive curriculum and meaningful learning experiences for all students
- Support a collaborative, reflective, and caring professional culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- 5–10 years of relevant educational and leadership experience
- Experience in progressive and/or independent schools strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
