 Job Summary: 
 The role operates as a member of the Integrated Learning team to provide access and direct learning support to middle school students. The Learning Specialist provides one-on-one academic coaching and small group instruction to build successful student skills for students with diagnosed or identified learning needs.&#xa0;&#xa0;

 Specific Responsibilities: 
 
 Oversees ILP (Individualized Learning Plan) case management for a group of assigned middle school students which includes individual student support, creation/oversight of ILPs, attending student services meetings, and other related duties.&#xa0; 
 Teaches up to two sections of UPrep&#8217;s small group study skills class,&#xa0; Middle School SchoolHacks 
 Works collaboratively as a member of the Integrated Learning team to ensure that students with documented and/or identified preferences for learning have access to the supports and structures that will help them find success&#xa0; 
 Partners with teachers, advisors, deans and counselors to provide real-time support for students demonstrating struggle to access the curriculum 
 Serves as a grade-level advisor for 10-12 middle school students 
 Actively participates in the life of the school outside of the classroom through chaperoning, joining grade level trips, and attending school events 
 
 
 Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all of the school&#8217;s constituencies 
 Vigorously engages in their own professional development; is a life-long learner who enhances their skills, using state-of-the-art technologies to maintain high standards of performance to efficiently and effectively produce work products

 Position Overview 
 Open Window School seeks a lead Language Arts Teacher to join our grades 5-8 teaching team for the 2026-27 school year.  This full-time position focuses on the instruction of language arts. Primary language arts components include effective teaching of reading comprehension and the writing process, including expository, persuasive, creative, and narrative forms.  The K-8 Music teacher is responsible for building a vibrant, visible, mission-aligned music program at Open Window School. In Lower School, (K-4) students gain fundamental music skills and develop an appreciation for music as a means of expression. In Middle School (5-8), students deepen their musical understanding through singing, instrumental study, and composition. Music is required in 5 th  and 6 th  grade; in 7 th  and 8 th  grade, the music teacher designs elective offerings that allow students to pursue their individual musical interests in greater depth. At all grade levels, students are given the opportunity to perform for a variety of audiences. 
 The ideal candidate brings a broad background in music education, which may include choir, musical theatre, multicultural music, music history, and instrumental instruction. They design engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum that inspires bright learners and encourages curiosity, creativity, and risk-taking. An understanding of, and commitment to supporting students with learning differences and neurodiversity is essential. The K&#8211;8 Music Teacher fosters a safe, inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to express themselves artistically. 
 The K&#8211;8 Music Teacher is also an active and collaborative member of the school community, working closely with colleagues and taking initiative to build upon and strengthen the existing music program.  Hours: 8am &#8211; 4pm, Tuesdays until 5pm. This role requires some commitments outside these hours including but not limited to school events.

 Job Summary: 
 Under minimal supervision, teaches at least four sections of performing arts (theater, musical theater, acting, theater tech, stagecraft) or some combination as assigned.&#xa0; Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other members of the faculty and staff.&#xa0; Serves as a Middle School advisor and actively participates in the life of the school outside of classroom teaching responsibilities.&#xa0;

 Specific Responsibilities: 
 
 Teaches four classes or the equivalent per semester, as assigned, according to the needs of the school. This might include cross-divisional teaching in the Upper School 
 Co-teaches one intensive class 
 As a part of their teaching load, directs one musical production and one straight play per year, which includes after-school rehearsals 
 Advises a group of 10 &#8211; 12 Middle School students 
 Actively participates in the life of the school outside the classroom 
 Vigorously engages in their own professional development 
 Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all the school&#8217;s constituencies 
 Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school&#8217;s documents 
 Since safety and security are everyone&#8217;s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities

 Education &#38; Experience: 
 Bachelor&#39;s degree in Theater, Drama, Theater Tech, or a related field from a four-year college or university required 
 
 Master&#39;s degree in a related field or education strongly preferred 
 3 to 5 years of successful teaching experience in a secondary school environment preferred

 Demonstrated experience directing theater and musical theater productions

 Job Summary: 
 Under minimal supervision, teaches multiple levels of computer science classes, classes in data science, engineering, and robotics, supporting instruction for computational thinking across the curriculum, and advising student clubs such as Makerspace and Girls Who Code.

 Specific Responsibilities: 
 
 Teaches three to four Middle and Upper School elective courses in computer science per term with the goals of high engagement, broad accessibility, and opportunities for advanced study 
 Teaches interdisciplinary courses in data science, engineering, and robotics, sometimes with a teaching partner 
 Helps manage the Makerspace, including its physical infrastructure and student activities 
 Helps advise robotics teams in Middle School and/or Upper School 
 Makes computer science visible within the school community, particularly to encourage the involvement of students who are underrepresented in the field. 
 Collaborates with teachers in other disciplines (currently math and science) to integrate computer science and computational thinking activities into required courses 
 Supports student-led clubs, which vary from year to year based on student initiative and may include small robotics, engineering, 3D printing, IOT, programming, and app design 
 Serves as an advisor to 10-12 students 
 Serves as a grade-level advisor for a grade-level team 
 Develops future strategic directions for the computer science program, in collaboration with the leadership and program directors 
 Actively networks with local and national organizations 
 Actively participates in the life of the school outside the classroom
