Position
Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking an experienced Montessori-trained collaborative teacher to work with children in our Montessori program beginning in August 2026.?Strong candidates will be professional, energetic, dedicated, and Montessori trained.?The Montessori collaborative teacher works alongside assisting the lead teachers in the classroom to enhance student learning and ensure that grade-level expectations are met. This assistant role involves actively collaborating with the teaching team to monitor student progress, provide individualized support, and facilitate individual, small group, and whole class instruction with the Montessori approach. The position focuses on meeting the unique needs of each student through thoughtful Montessori strategies and close collaboration with the grade-level team to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uphold and actively support the school’s mission, character virtues, and code of conduct
Maintain confidentiality of all student and personnel information
Foster a safe, positive, and well-managed learning environment in accordance with school policies and pre-school licensing requirements
Provide consistent supervision to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students
Take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Implement lesson plans effectively, maintaining the integrity of instructional time and engaging students in learning
Collaborate closely with lead teachers within the classroom
Be prepared to lead instruction in the absence of the lead teacher
Communicate student progress, observations, and instructional updates with lead teachers, support services, and division leadership as needed
Maintain open and professional communication with the teaching team
Support students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
Follow oral and written directions and maintain positive working relationships with students and staff
Support other duties as assigned by the director of pre-primary or head of lower school
Qualifications
Competitive candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree, relevant Montessori training, and some experience teaching/working with children.
