St. George’s Independent School seeks a passionate, creative, and hard-working individual who is energized by work with families to serve as an Upper School Mathematics Teacher beginning August, 2026.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree and mathematics majors are preferred
The successful candidate will possess skills and experience that would include the ability and desire to:
create engaging instruction that prioritizes mathematical thinking and problem solving over memorizing rules and algorithms;
teach upper level mathematics courses, including but not limited to precalculus, calculus and statistics;
collaborate with departmental colleagues to analyze and develop curriculum and share best pedagogical practices;
provide strong classroom management, characterized by clear expectations, compassion, patience, and a sense of humor;
utilize various formative and summative assessments to gauge student understanding and provide timely, constructive feedback to students;
convey a passion for learning, inquisitiveness, and an enthusiasm for mathematics.
communicate proactively and effectively with parents/guardians and colleagues about student progress;
serve as a student advisor for a small group of students, focused on their overall physical, emotional, social, and academic wellness; and
be a collegial, flexible, and supportive member of the school community, chaperoning student programs, performing supervisory duties, attending extracurricular events occasionally, and overnight trips as needed.
partner with community members to support the St. George’s mission with a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Physical Requirements: Regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and to interact with campus visitors as well as others who telephone. Must have the ability to understand and present materials and communicate with constituents and co-workers in a harmonious manner.
