Choate Rosemary Hall seeks qualified candidates to fill the position of head coach for girls’ varsity basketball. Coaching candidates may apply as coach-only (part-time) or in combination with any open full-time positions listed on our employment page.
Choate maintains a highly competitive girls’ varsity basketball team that faces traditional New England prep school opponents within the context of an education-based athletics program. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated strengths in recruiting, player development, and program building. Candidates must demonstrate how inclusive and equitable practices inform their approach to coaching and team buildingwithin a basketball program. In addition, the varsity head coach of the girls’ basketball program assumes general oversight of sub-varsity teams and coordination of the girls' basketball coaching staff. The head coach is responsible for recruiting suitable student-athletes and assisting in the college placement process.
Teaching/Administrative Candidates (full-time position): Candidates applying for the head coach position as part of a full-time teaching and/or administrative appointment to the faculty should be prepared to take on other responsibilities, such as student advising, residential life, and other extracurricular activities.
