The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of almost 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn in New York City. We seek a part-time (75%) Mandarin teacher to join our World Language department for the 2025-2026 school year and to teach a range of small Mandarin classes, from introductory to intermediate/high intermediate. 

The position includes the following classes (World Language Dept. classes):

• Mandarin 2: 3 students (course meets 6 times/two-week cycle)
• Mandarin 3: 1 student (course meets 3-4 times/two-week cycle)
• Mandarin 4: 8 students (course meets 6 times/two-week cycle)
• Mandarin 5: 1 student (course meets 3 times/two-week cycle)
• Advanced Mandarin Independent Study (1 student, course meets twice/two-week cycle)

The ideal candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Mandarin, Mandarin teaching experience at this level, an interest in collaboration with other language teachers, and a love of teaching high school students.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive and will be offered commensurate with experience and credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $70k-$100k; annual compensation will be prorated to reflect 0.75 part-time status (prorated range, $52.5k-$75k).
