Rudolf Steiner School seeks a full time Director of College Guidance. The Director of College Guidance is responsible for all aspects of the college guidance program. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Core responsibilities:
Meet with students concerning all phases of the admissions college process and communicate regularly with students and their parents, providing guidance through the college search and application process.
Build and maintain strong relationships with college admission officials, keeping them well-informed about the strong academic program and positive student experience at Rudolf Steiner.
Develop and lead programming and create materials for students to educate them and their families about the nuances of the college admissions process.
Support students in their submission of applications and manage the school’s submission of official transcripts, recommendations, report forms, and school profile, as needed.
Schedule and host college admissions representatives for visits to Rudolf Steiner.
Write compelling counselor letters of recommendation for each senior (approximately 20 students).
Manage PSAT, SAT, ACT and AP testing for students, including scheduling test dates, registering students, and administering exams.
Provide resources for and create connections with students in middle and high school to support student retention.
Report to the board of trustees as requested.
Support internship programs and other extracurricular activities as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is preferred.
Combined experience of five or more years as an admission officer and/or college counselor in selective college admission processes is preferred.
Experience with student learning management systems, college guidance platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Skilled at gathering information and data, analysis of data, and preparing and delivering presentations
Ability to communicate with various stakeholders using multiple platforms.
Broad knowledge of U.S. and international colleges and universities
