This is a full-time, exempt, year-round position with a competitive salary range of $165,000–$190,000, commensurate with experience. San Domenico offers an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a robust retirement plan, and daily lunch.

As we celebrate our 175th anniversary in the 2025–26 school year, we are seeking an inspiring and strategic academic leader to serve as our next Assistant Head for Academic Affairs. Purpose Statement
Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Assistant Head for Academic Affairs partners with faculty and school leaders to shape and advance San Domenico’s academic program, fostering innovation, alignment, and excellence across all divisions. This role supports faculty development and instructional growth, ensures continuity of learning K–12, and strengthens the systems that empower both educators and students to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership in curriculum design, program innovation, and teaching excellence
Strengthen alignment and collaboration across the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools
Lead faculty professional development, coaching, and evaluation
Support data-informed instructional practices and assessment systems
Partner with the Assistant Head for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure equitable and mission-aligned academic practices
Collaborate with HR and Division Directors on inclusive faculty recruitment and onboarding
Coordinate accreditation and institutional research efforts
Serve as a visible, engaged leader on campus who models curiosity, empathy, and purpose
Qualifications and Preferences
Master’s degree or higher in education or a related field required
Minimum of five years of academic leadership experience, preferably in an independent or innovative school setting
Demonstrated excellence in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and faculty growth
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style
Experience using data and assessment tools to inform teaching and learning
Ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and purpose in a dynamic K–12 environment
