 Position Summary 
 The  Director of Business Administration  is a strategic, values-driven leader responsible for stewarding the operational, financial, and administrative systems that make exceptional learning possible. This role partners closely with the Head of School to ensure organizational sustainability, operational excellence, and a safe, joyful, well-resourced environment for students and staff. 
 This is not a &#8220;back office&#8221; role. It&#8217;s a mission ? critical leadership role that ensures the school&#8217;s growth and long ? term health. 
 Key Responsibilities 
 
 Strategic Leadership:  Strengthen schoolwide planning, culture, and enrollment outcomes by providing operational leadership that improves family experience, retention, and mission-aligned systems. 
 
 
 Operational Management:  Ensure a safe, efficient, and service-oriented school environment by leading operations staff, maintaining compliant systems, and managing daily procedures, assets, and risk-management practices. 
 
 
 Financial Oversight:  Drive strong financial performance and accountability by overseeing reporting, procurement, third-party financial operations, and HR systems in partnership with school leadership and the Board. 
 
 
 Facilities and Safety:  Maintain a safe, high-quality learning environment by directing facilities operations, vendor performance, health and safety protocols, and full regulatory compliance. 
 
 
 Marketing, Admissions, and Enrollment:  Advance enrollment growth and retention by leading marketing and admissions teams, aligning communications with mission, and collaborating on forecasting and family-experience improvements. 
 
 Candidate Profile 
 The ideal candidate is a relational, detail-oriented operational leader who thrives in diverse, mission-driven environments. They bring: 
 
 Minimum of five years of experience in operations and resource management, with a strong preference for experience in a private school, non-profit, or educational setting. 
 Understanding of the operational, financial and marketing needs specific to educational programs, particularly IB and/or dual language immersion is highly desirable. 
 Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. 
 Strong leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. 
 Ability to foster strong relationships and communicate effectively&#8212;both verbally and in writing&#8212;with a diverse community of students, families, and staff. 
 
 Salary &#38; Benefits 
 The salary range for this position is $110,000&#8211;$135,000, depending on experience.

 In addition to embracing Rippowam Cisqua School&#39;s mission, supporting the Head of School and leadership, and representing the school at professional and public forums, the new CFO will have a number of primary responsibilities:&#xa0; 
 
 Provide strategic leadership, analysis, and management of finances and operations. 
 Working closely with the Head of School to develop financial and capital strategies that are consistent with school priorities and strategic direction. 
 Serve on the Head of School&#39;s Administrative Team and lead, co-lead, or participate in several other teams and committees as appropriate. 
 Provide executive leadership for all business office functions. 
 Provide financial reporting to the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and various committees. 
 Serve as chief liaison between Staff and Board committees. 
 Build and/or maintain the school&#39;s short- and long-term strategic financial models. 
 In concert with the Investment Committee of the Board, oversee the administration of the school&#39;s endowment. 
 Provide strategic partnership and support to Director of Operation and Technology, who oversees school operations including personnel, maintenance, and vendors. 
 Work closely with Director of Admissions to align enrollment, marketing, and financial aid strategy with strategic fiscal priorities.&#xa0; 
 Maintain strong relationships with banks and lenders to ensure compliance with loan terms and that funding is secured for the needs of the school. 
 Administer and manage all employee benefit programs including health insurance, retirement, worker&#39;s compensation, life insurance, and other related plans. 
 Manage insurance programs including property, casualty, medical, workers&#39; compensation. 
 Ensure compliance with all local and state reporting requirements. 
 Collaborate effectively with Advancement, Enrollment Management, and other departments.&#xa0; 
 Coordinate closely with the Director of Operations and Technology on oversight of the physical plant, grounds, and construction functions.&#xa0; 
 Qualifications and Personal Attributes&#xa0; 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s degree required, MBA or CPA preferred; 
 Significant senior-level experience creating and executing financial planning and management strategies; 
 Experience in an independent school preferred, though all individuals with strong financial and leadership skills are welcome to apply; 
 Significant experience leading a team and building positive, collaborative, and healthy workplace culture; 
 Experience managing a team with both in-office and remote members, successfully creating cohesion among the team itself and setting clear goals, responsibilities, expectations, and clear systems of accountability; 
 Proven record of accomplishment designing, implementing, and managing large-scale organizational change, including the development and implementation of automated and digitized business processes; 
 A strong track record of integrity and ability to build and maintain trust; 
 Enthusiasm for the lively, joyful culture of a PK-8 school where the needs of students come first; 
 Demonstrated commitment aligning management and business practices with RCS&#8217; principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging; 
 Superb communication skills including excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; 
 Experience on senior administrative teams and working with non-profit Boards; 
 Demonstrated experience in measuring and improving organization-wide productivity; 
 Demonstrated experience in the development of analysis for strategic decision-making, such as key cost drivers, competitive analysis, market analysis, organizational strengths, and weaknesses, etc.; 
 Experience in human resource management, employee benefits (including pension plans), and payroll procedures. 
 Knowledge of business and not-for-profit accounting policies, procedures, practices, facilities, and software programs. 
 Blackbaud experience a plus; 
 Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively;

 Obtain quotes, compare pricing, and assist in vendor selection in accordance with school policies.

 Maintain meticulous, organized records of all purchasing transactions, bids, contracts, and vendor documentation.

 Transportation Operations 
 
 Assist with coordination of student transportation services, including buses, vans, and contracted transportation providers.

 Track transportation expenses and support billing and reconciliation processes. 
 Serve as a point of contact for transportation-related inquiries from faculty, staff, and families. 
 Assist with compliance documentation related to transportation safety and regulations.

 General Business Office &#38; Administrative Support 
 
 Support facilities work orders, project tracking, and communication with vendors and contractors. 
 Provide administrative support to Facilities Director with duties including but not limited to calendar management, completion of certification forms, etc. 
 Collaborate with other Business Office team members to support daily operations. 
 Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial and personnel information. 
 Any additional duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer 
 Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s degree 
 2-3 years of administrative experience in purchasing or procurement preferably in an educational or non-profit setting preferred. 
 High level of proficiency with Excel or other spreadsheet applications as well as with database management software 
 Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of integrity and professional ethics.
