Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a Director of Brand Strategy to lead the development and execution of strategic brand initiatives that reinforce NMH’s mission and values across internal and external audiences. This campus-based role is responsible for managing primary and sub-branding efforts, with a particular focus on Admission/Enrollment, Athletics, Advancement, and key academic programs. The Director oversees branding efforts across digital and print platforms, including social media and the school’s website, and supervises a small staff to ensure alignment, consistency, and impact.

A Day in the Life: The Director of Brand Strategy leads strategic and operational branding efforts in collaboration with senior institutional leaders and colleagues across departments. This role involves developing and refining internal and external brand messaging, supporting sub-branding for athletics and academic programs, and strengthening NMH’s reputation at regional, national, and international levels. The Director monitors brand effectiveness, leads data-driven decision-making on marketing strategies, and serves as a key spokesperson for the school when appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Experience managing brand identity and marketing campaigns across platforms
Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership in marketing/communications
8–10 years of increasingly responsible marketing experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite, and Apple OS X; interest in AI in marketing
Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
