The Buckley School, an all-boys K-8 + Academy Year school, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is seeking a registrar. The registrar is responsible for all academic record keeping and management of central school databases. They are charged with the planning of the all-school calendar, documenting all student/faculty schedules, enrolling and managing new student accounts, and coordinating such with the Division Heads, the Head of School, and the Assistant Head of School, to whom they report. This is a full year (12 month) position with generous vacation and remote work opportunities in the summer.
Job Description:
Manage the School’s calendars and any pertinent sub-calendars,including, but not limited to, annual input, regular updates, organizing and leading calendar committee meetings.
Track and report student, faculty and staff attendance.
Manage school databases, including updating information, ensuring accuracy and synchronicity between different databases, adding/removing individuals as needed.
Provide support to families in accessing student information system accounts.
Coordinate and oversee staff training requirements on Blackbaud or any other database software utilized by the School. This will involve working with the IT Department.
Oversee the maintenance of student records including archiving or disposing of the appropriate student records after graduation or withdrawal.
Prepare Transcripts for boys applying to secondary schools/other schools for Head of School and Division Directors.
Create and maintain online report card structure and ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of academic progress. Compute student class rank and grade point average.
Manage procurement of instructional materials for all grade levels and subjects.

Experience with database management - Blackbaud experience a strong plus.

Ability to adapt to changes and learn new processes quickly.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Comfort with and ability to learn software applications – experience with Google Apps for Education and Google Workspace.
