Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
Develop plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group
instruction and adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
Maintain lesson plans and schedules as part of curriculum mapping
Use a variety of instructional strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, discovery, etc.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional and positive learning atmosphere in the classroom
Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare narratives and report cards
Communicate with parents through conferences, phone calls, and e-mail to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program
Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, behavioral, and learning challenges
Maintain professional competence through professional growth activities, including training drills, and other school procedures
Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day, such as recess, lunch, and breaks
Participate in department, division, and full faculty meetings, and serve on school committees as required
Attend divisional and school-wide required events (e.g. planning, Open Houses, conferences, etc.)
Present a positive image of The Lexington School to the outside community, including social networking sites
Other duties as assigned by the Preschool Division Head or Head of School
This is a full-time position, 10-month teaching position Effective July 1, 2026.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood education, or other related field required.
Kindergarten or lower elementary school teaching experience required.
