Saddle River Day School is seeking a full-time History and Economics teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will teach Upper School classes and serve as an advisor to a small group of students.
Key responsibilities for this position are:
Teach 5 sections of History and Economics courses, with potential classes including AP Microeconomics, AP Comparative Government, and Early World History for freshmen
Serve as an advisor to a group of students
Participate in the school community beyond the classroom (e.g. clubs, events, trips, committees, etc.)
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in History, Economics, or a related subject (advanced degree preferred)
Have experience teaching History and/or Economics courses, preferable at the high school level (other relevant experience will be considered)
Demonstrate a passion for history, current events, student success, and real-world learning
Effectively be able to manage a classroom and maintain accurate records
Collaborate effectively with colleagues to design and implement a student-centered curriculum
Connect and work with families to ensure student success
Foster a student-centered environment which encourages intellectual risk-taking and innovation
Incorporate current educational trends and meaningful technology into classroom pedagogy
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $60,000 to $85,000 (final compensation will be determined based on experience and education)
