Salary Details:
Candidates with 10 to 20 years related experience in the education field can anticipate an annual salary, ranging from: $92,167 for 18 hours of teaching per week to $105,392 (Teaching Scale 1) in the 2026/2027 salary grid. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, etc. LFSF offers a negotiated salary range.
Excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, 11 paid holidays, close to 16 weeks of paid vacation accrued the first year, long-term disability and retirement benefits.

The Lycée Français de San Francisco is currently seeking dynamic and enthusiastic applicants for a Mandarin language teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 School Year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Middle and High School students and promoting Mandarin language in our school.
The Lycée Français de San Francisco is a French Immersion College Preparatory School in the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide a challenging educational environment based on the French national curriculum, enriched by English classes from PS-12th grade. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge, while encouraging the development of analytical and critical thinking skills. Our students earn an American high school diploma, as well as prepare for the French Baccalauréat, which qualifies them for both American and European Universities.
Responsibilities:
Implement age/level-appropriate Mandarin language course for Middle and High School students
Develop knowledge and understanding of French curriculum standards for teaching Mandarin and Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
Ensure the visibility and celebration of Mandarin language & culture in our school
Monitor and evaluate student progress
Communicating regularly with students, parents, guardians and advisors regarding student progress
Assess student performance using a variety of assessment methods and tools.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and implement school-wide initiatives.
Participate every year in overnight school field trips and Lycée global learning program
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to student behavior and discipline.
Participate in various teacher meetings
Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in teaching or a related field.
Teaching certification to teach Mandarin.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching a wide range of student abilities at the Middle and/or High School level.
Knowledge of and experience with recent best practices in Mandarin language teaching instruction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
Passion for promoting physical activity, wellness, and healthy lifestyles.
Familiarity with technology and innovative teaching strategies.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
