About The Healdsburg School Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County wine country, The Healdsburg School (THS) is more than just a school—it’s a vibrant, inclusive learning community where curiosity thrives, individuality is celebrated, and big thinking starts young. Our mission? To cultivate the intellect, compassion, and courage to lead lives of inquiry and purpose.
We serve students from Transitional Kindergarten through 8th Grade, with a dynamic academic program that blends rigorous academics with creativity, global perspectives, and social-emotional growth. Our Lower School is an authorized IB World School, and our Middle School continues the inquiry-based, student-centered learning journey.
Who We’re Looking For We’re on the hunt for a math-loving, equation-solving, student-championing educator who sees math as more than just numbers—someone who helps students make connections, explore ideas, and discover the "aha!" moments that spark lifelong learning.
As our Middle School Math Teacher, you’ll bring Algebra and Geometry to life, challenge students to think critically and creatively, and guide them as they grow into confident problem-solvers and kind community members. You're not just teaching math—you’re shaping the way young minds see the world.
What You'll Do
Design and teach engaging, inquiry-based math lessons that meet students where they are and help them grow
Make math meaningful—whether it’s graphing equations, solving real-world problems, or discovering the beauty of patterns
Support students through one-on-one check-ins, small-group instruction, and whole-class conversations
Use assessment data to personalize learning and provide timely feedback to students and families
Create a classroom environment that’s both challenging and joyful, where every student feels seen, supported, and safe to take risks
Collaborate with a passionate team of educators to build a cohesive academic experience
Participate fully in the life of the school—advisory, community events, professional development, and more
Job Requirements
Have a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) and a teaching credential or equivalent classroom experience
Know your way around middle school math and love teaching Algebra, Geometry, and problem-solving strategies
Are a relationship-builder who believes in the power of connection and community
Bring creativity and flexibility to your teaching, and see challenges as opportunities
Believe deeply in inclusive, student-centered teaching practices that honor every child’s identity and potential
Are excited to engage in continuous learning and meaningful collaboration
Compensation & Perks
Salary range: $62,000–$90,000, based on experience and qualifications
Benefits package includes: health, dental, vision, limited life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan
A supportive, joyful school culture where your work truly matters—and so do you
Join Us! If you're ready to bring your love of math and teaching to a school that values creativity, community, and curiosity, we’d love to hear from you.

About The Healdsburg School
The Healdsburg School (THS) offers families an outstanding educational experience for children in the grades of Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Our dynamic learning environment ensures that children experience our school as a place where they are known and learning is personalized. We embrace a differentiated curriculum philosophy in which our talented teachers understand the learning and developmental needs of each student and provide the necessary support and challenge to ensure our students maximize their potential in intellectual, social/emotional, and physical development. The Healdsburg School aspires to cultivate the intellect, courage, and compassion to lead lives of inquiry and purpose.
An important measure of an education is a student’s ability and willingness to learn, grow, create and problem solve outside of traditional school structures. In order to support this goal, The Healdsburg School strives to take a step back and give students choice about where and how to spend their time as well as opportunities to pursue interests and explore new tools, materials and ideas. With that in mind, THS is seeking an educator to devel...op and instruct dynamic elective classes focused on the applied sciences. Beyond that, the ideal candidate will collaborate with TK-8 faculty in support of the curriculum, to expand engineering, computer science and integrated project-based academic offerings.
