Overview:
Mount Saint Mary Academy is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach while also assisting the Varsity Head Coach. This position is ideal for a coach who is committed to developing student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, and supporting the overall success and continuity of the volleyball program.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Head Coach for the JV Girls Volleyball team
- Plan and conduct daily practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy
- Coach and manage all JV competitions
- Assist the Varsity Head Coach with practices, game preparation, and match-day responsibilities
- Promote alignment and consistency between JV and Varsity program philosophies
- Evaluate student-athletes and provide constructive feedback to support development
- Support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of student-athletes
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration
- Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic department expectations
Qualifications:
- Prior volleyball coaching experience (high school or club preferred)
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies
- Ability to teach and develop players at varying skill levels
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and student-athlete development
- Availability for all scheduled practices and matches during the fall season
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working within a high school athletic program
- Experience coaching both JV and Varsity levels
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
Compensation:
- Competitive seasonal stipend ranging from $5,000–$7,000, based on experience and qualifications.
