The Senesh School, a progressive, independent K-8 Jewish day school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is hiring a middle school science and math teacher to join our 2026-27 faculty.
Successful candidates will be dynamic, innovative, nurturing, and reflective educators that possess a growth mindset. Responsibilities include teaching 5th grade science, middle school STEM electives, and providing math support and enrichment.
Responsibilities include:
Creating a warm, creative, and supportive classroom environment
Teaching the 5th grade science curriculum
Designing and leading STEM electives and enrichment
Providing math support and enrichment
Collaborating with faculty at the department, grade-level, and divisional levels
Partnering with the student support team to meet the diverse needs of learners
Maintaining accurate documentation of curriculum and student progress
Building effective partnerships with parents
Serving as a middle school advisor
Attending a weekly faculty meeting, department meeting, and other professional development opportunities

Qualifications and Dispositions:
MA degree in education or a related field
Three or more years of middle school lead teaching experience
Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in STEM education
Collaborative, collegial, and team-oriented
Commitment to a “whole child” approach supporting academic, social, and emotional growth
Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging
