SUMMARY
The Gann Academy Development Office seeks an alum to work part-time (20 hours per week) over the summer on alumni relations. Responsibilities may include:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Update alumni contact information through research and direct outreach
Review alumni email addresses in Constant Contact to ensure accurate email lists
Manage and maintain the Gann Academy Alumni Association LinkedIn page and group
Communicate with alumni and gather alumni stories, draft alumni profiles
Manage alumni mailings like books, Onesies, and thank you notes
Cultivate and solicit gifts to the Gann Fund, when appropriate
Brainstorm ideas for alumni communications and events with the Senior Alumni Relations Officer and the Development team
This is a hybrid position, part-time, with a maximum of 20 hours per week, for approximately two months. Specific schedule - hours, as well as start and end dates, are negotiable. This position is not benefit-eligible.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, and SKILLS
Graduate of Gann Academy, current college student, or recent college graduate
Time management and the ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
Attention to detail and data management
Confidentiality with sensitive, personal information
Creativity and problem solving
Curiosity and willingness to engage with others
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Computer skills (Excel, Word) and social media skills (LinkedIn, Instagram)
Understanding of and commitment to Jewish education
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be proficient in English to carry out work as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands include bending, lifting, and moving furniture on a regular basis. The ability to be on your feet for an extended period. Physical ability to lift heavy objects to 50 pounds or more, climb ladders, and work both in confined spaces and outside.
